Service Description

As of June 2024 Per 21 NCAC 16H.0203(a),-Coronal Polishing is an expanded function for DAI's in training and or DAII int the state of North Carolina. DAI's in training no longer require the work 3000 hours in order to participate so long as you have a licensed dentist approves your participation in the course. This course offered to DAII’s. Our course includes lecture and clinical practice of coronal tooth polishing. Upon successful completion of this course, the Dental Assistant will be able to polish, under the supervision of a licensed dentist, the coronal surfaces of the dentition. The following documentation will be required prior to enrollment: Proof of DAI status / Certification CPR Written consent from a Licensed Dentist approving participation in course. To qualify to perform coronal polishing, a DA II must successfully complete a 7-hour (three hours of didactic and four hours of clinical) coronal polishing course meeting North Carolina Board requirements Upon the student’s complete registration and payment for the class, please be prepared to bring the following to class: protective eye wear or face shield, scrub top & bottom, and a lab jacket. Prior to enrollment, you will need the following:  Dental Assistant 1 certification or Employment Verification Valid proof of identification CPR up to date Written consent from a Licensed Dentist approving participation in course.
